Shilling Shockers

#7 - 12 Days on the Road: The Sex Pistols and America.  Noel E. Monk and Jimmy Guterman.
This was rather highly recommended but honestly, it’s not a great read.  I quickly lost track of which roadie was which.  I did keep hold of such political intrigues as who Malcolm McLaren had pissed off (everybody) but all in all it could have done with more of the sensational nonsense we expect from punk non-fiction.  I felt sorry for Johnny, who seemed miserable the entire time, and Sid (as usual) was heartbreakingly loutish.  I always want to reach into these books and hug him and give him a damn bath.
This is a pretty shitty review but it’s about all the book deserves.
